Wisconsin is starting to take steps to measure hospital quality, though this effort is still in its infancy. On a national level there is more information available. Below are some hospital quality sites to visit where you can find some helpful information.

A public reporting program developed by the Wisconsin Hospital Association. On the site you can view information about the quality and safety of the health care services delivered by Wisconsin hospitals for heart attack, heart failure, and pneumonia. The site also has definitions on quality health care, tips on how to choose a hospital, how to create a better hospital experience, and more.

The Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality (WCHQ)
Is a voluntary statewide consortium of quality improvement-driven healthcare organizations that are committed to improving the quality of health care in the State of Wisconsin. They agree to common definitions for measuring healthcare quality outcomes and publicly report their performance against those measures. Their ambulatory care system measures are at the forefront of outpatient performance measurement and incorporate the latest evidence-based standards across the entire health system population.

US Dept. of Health & Human Services Hospital Compare Tool
Provides information about how well the hospitals in your area care for all their adult patients with certain medical conditions like heart attack, heart failure, and pneumonia. This information will help you compare the quality of care hospitals provide. Hospital Compare was created through the efforts of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and organizations that represent hospitals, doctors, employers, accrediting organizations, other Federal agencies and the public.
